UK is not Canada. I don't know if you heard but they left EU because they were going to find a ton of new trading partners and US was supposed to be one of the big ones. They are in an incredibly weak position and US is trying to exploit it. I wouldn't be surprised if they paid the bribe to Trump through a settlement to save this deal.

In unrelated news, US suspended $31B trade deal with UK.

I live in a democracy and don't want to bring children into this.
I hope Archer can put down his ping-pong paddle for a moment and go on another rampage. Terms of En-Rampagement deserves a sequel.

It's all pretty depressing and fucked up.
I don't know this story but in Poland, books that were mandatory to read in primary school included:
- story about a poor kid who really wanted to play violin, dared to touch violin belonging to the landlord and was beaten to death as a punishment (Janko muzykant)
- story about a young girl that gets sick, as a "fold remedy" is put into an oven for the duration of a prayer and dies (Antek)
- story about a kid who goes to school under German occupation and studies so much he gets brain inflammation and dies (Syzyfowe prace)
- story about a dog that gets left behind when his family moves, starts running in a desperate attempt to find his owner, finds her and dies of exhaustion in her arms (what was the title??)
- story about a horse working in a coalmine that can't ever get out because he entered when he was younger and now the ceiling is too low, the horse dies (Łysek z pokładu idy)
- story about a kid how gets pneumonia from playing outside with friends and dies (Chłopcy z placu broni)
- story about a kid who fights Germans during occupation, gets caught, is tortured and beaten up so badly that he dies shortly after his friends rescue him (Kamienie na szaniec)
- story about a teacher working in a small village, trying to teach poor children science. she gets sick and dies because there's a blizzard and they can't deliver medicine in time (Siłaczka)
- story about a dog that rides trains. the dog is hit by a train and dies (O psie który jeździł koleją)
I'm probably forgetting about couple more "fun" stories. So yeah, I would love to have read about spiders fucking instead.
Amen.
Have you even read what I said?
This is one of the things that while it's correct most people react very emotionally to the idea and for a politician it's better never to talk about it. What they are talking about is very similar to euthanasia that is legal and accepted in many countries. If a patient has no chance of survival it doesn't make much sense to spend a lot of money in prolonging his life for couple of days. What often happens is that people spend the last days so their lives in intensive care, in coma and on a ventilator. It just prolongs suffering as there is no chance for improvement. What he's getting wrong is the solution. Instead of restricting care they should implement robust system of DNRs/life testaments. Everyone should decide what type of care they want to receive, doctors should be legally obligated to follow those directions and it should not be possible to override it by family members. A lot of people would still be against it because death is a very emotional topic but at least it doesn't sound evil.
The business is a lucrative and rapidly growing one as more medical procedures become available and women opt to have children later in life, sometimes on their own or with same-sex partners.
"Kjeld," a tall white man with light brown hair and brown eyes who was listed as an "M.S. Economy Student."
So a lot of people want sperm for tall, white, well educated men and I guess not that many white, tall, well educated men are interested in donating. Limits are difficult to enforce because different countries have different laws. I don't think there's an easy solution. IVF and sperm banks will always be riskier than direct impregnation by well known, long term partner. You either have to make access to it more difficult and expensive or accept that there will be some risk involved.
So from 2035 it was supposed to be possible to only sell cars with 100% reduction in CO2 emissions. They want to change it to 90% reduction and still allow to sell plug-in-hybrids which is bullshit because recent analysis of real life usage show that plug-in hybrids run on gas most of the time and are not nearly as efficient as estimated. They should focus on building charging infrastructure instead. German car industry is dying anyway.
