The answer as to why is in the abstract: dude was flying on coke.
I've done a whole 8-ball in one night. Coke doesn't make you stupid or blow out your inhibitions. This guy was something special to begin with.
It definitely blows inhibitions and also makes do you dumb stuff, but nothing close to this level. I've done 8-balls in one night and have done dumb stuff I wouldn't have done without it, same as doing dumb stuff on alcohol and even weed. But this is so far removed from that, he'd have to have absolutely no idea about the dangers and I really think there must have been someone else who persuaded him in bad faith.
