Well considering the mortality rate for mothers is fairly low in rich countries I'd hazard a guess that it's fairly safe and the benefits widely outweighs the risk.

Is the tensile strength approximately infinite and/or the weight of the wire close to zero?
If they are not I'll play around with something at work tomorrow if I'm not too busy. Eg something 100 times "better" than steel, would it stretch due being anchored by it's own weight rather than move the other end at astronomical distances.
It will remove some amount of material when you cut.

Don't have any local markets. In the south you can pick up some groceries straight from the farmer but I live too far north for farming.
Because it's cheap and easy to produce. Biofuels compete with food and forests. Not sure how much waste products can cover. Either way the biodiesel is about twice the price of the regular stuff here and has a lower tax rate than regular diesel (~43% tax rate)
It has a very high energy density. First Google result approx 10x that of batteries in EVs.
All the infrastructure is already built. EVs are becoming better and better options but the grid needs to be upgraded and the generation capacity increased.
If you get a job and pay your taxes Scandinavian countries most people don't mind.
