When these websites have become the porn sites of the past, it again becomes about alternatives. What alternatives will become used and accepted by both teens and grown ups.

I agree with the ban, tbh, as addiction is real for many. Social media is a new drug.
But decent alternatives should be available that can be monitored (independently, and not by individual's parents), to be safe spaces.
It's what was asked from the various FB, Reddit, etc by others, but was clearly not enforced.
