There are multiple meanings of "routine". From your description I see you want to add variety.

To spice things up, I usually get a coffee from the shops. When that gets boring, I go to a different shop or at a different time. There are dry erase dice that one can write actions on the different faces of.

For those looking to break a habit, I usually do it by adding something, nearly anything early in the day. No reason to get a coffee at the shop if I am holding a coffee from home.

Interesting! FYI, not all Doctors require the constant monitoring, so some people can keep using the same machine longer.

I love that this will avoid pooling water on the roots.

Also, it looks like fake AI. In this case that is cool.

This is fascinating. I am commenting here to add an accessible article on the subject: https://evonomics.com/tragedy-of-the-commons-elinor-ostrom/ and Wikipedia pages https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragedy_of_the_commons and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elinor_Ostrom.

I had assumed the "Tragedy of the Commons" dated to medieval times, possibly as a school teacher had introduced the idea (and to a child teachers are older than dirt).

In 1833, the English economist William Forster Lloyd published "Two Lectures on the Checks to Population"

Garrett Hardin’s essay “The Tragedy of the Commons,” published in Science magazine in 1968.

Political scientist Elinor Ostrom, who was awarded 2009's Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for her work on the issue, and others revisited Hardin's work in 1999.

Net-Net it appears that the "Tragedy of the Commons" is yet another method to keep people from even trying to better their world.

FYI, this is the same family as the article from the summer. I was uncertain as I had expected they had last been in Russian longer than a few months.

A snopes article. https://www.snopes.com/news/2025/07/22/derek-huffman-russia-war/

I am of the opinion that not discussing these things is an analog to the Paradox of Tolerance, if not being exactly what the Paradox is about. If we don't discuss the hatefulness, then the hateful think they are doing fine.

Attacking only causes people to "dig in". Passive aggressive actions will make you look weak.

Being cordial while also calling out instances of hate as they occur would likely be fine. Be strong and confident, but keep corrections short and to the point (Imagine correctly a 5 year old. Understanding and care, not anger, and keep things in reality.) "That didn't happen.", "Why would a criminal say that?", "Toddlers visiting basketball plays, will reduce the average height, but no one gets shorter or taller."

People just don't notice the quiet ones. There are dozens of us.
