Yes, that is literally why the housing crisis exists. Landlords (think Blackrock and other mega corporations, not local landlords). Are trying to prevent the building of housing and bribing government officials to do so in order to create an artificial shortage.

This is because housing is a primary human need and a very small shortage will drive up the price immensely. Combine this with borowing and usury and you have yourself the perfect extortion combination.

Everyone knows since the sixties that government housing is the solution to all of this and there is a reason capitalists are making up every excuse under the moon to prevent the government from doing that again.

I think it is a bad idea and will incentivize landlords to literally raise the rent with the UBI money amount.

We need rent control and anti monopoly practices.

Israel’s largest defence company, Elbit Systems, has been suspended by NATO’s procurement agency amid a major corruption probe, Follow the Money and its media partners La Lettre, Le Soir, and Knack can reveal.

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) is at the centre of a wide-ranging graft scandal, with current and former staff under investigation for bribery. Several suspects were arrested in May in police raids across seven nations, including Belgium and the U.S.

FTM has also learned that a key figure associated with Elbit – an Italian citizen identified as Eliau E. – is wanted internationally for his alleged role in bribing NSPA staff.

Elbit is Israel’s biggest arms manufacturer, with a turnover of almost 7 billion dollars in 2024. The Haifa-based company – which makes drones, tanks and ammunition, among other military equipment – ranks 25th on the list of the world’s 100 largest defence companies compiled by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

Adopting a mindset to reduce the amount of risky consumption is more effective than avoiding it at any cost.

The EU is buying a ton of American weapons though?

Germany should build up a massive army to pre-emptively invade Russia. But first they should unite the rest of Europe. It is very pressing so there is no way to do this except by toppling their corrupt regimes. In fact lets start with Poland.

Israeli forces executed two unarmed Palestinians at point-blank range after they surrendered in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on Thursday.

The killings were captured on video, which showed the two men emerging from a building with their arms raised and their shirts lifted, clearly indicating they were unarmed and posed no threat to the soldiers.

The troops then shoot them dead.

The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the victims as Al-Muntasir Billah Mahmoud Qassem Abdullah, 26, and Yousef Ali Yousef Asa’sa, 37. They were shot in the Abu Dhahir neighborhood of Jenin.

Show me the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq I am waiting.

Europe was already spending four times more on their military than Russia before the remilitarization push.

And they are going to get hammered anyways because their weapons investments are largely going towards American and Israeli companies.

It is nice to see nobody learned a single thing from Iraq and Afghanistan. Prepare for some massive lies and a sheepish acknowledgement you were lied to afterwards.

A problem we frequently observe is when armies are given a giant hammer they suddenly start looking at the world map as a bunch of nails. Next thing you know Germany is invading Iran for Israel and not "defending against Russia".

Remember the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions.

This year, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz pledged to build Europe’s strongest army – a tall order for a country whose military has undergone years of neglect.

The coalition government is hoping a new bill agreed upon last week will help make this a reality, bolstering Germany’s forces in the face of the perceived threat from Russia and a significant shift in US foreign policy.

The sweeping new reforms will see Germany attempt to boost its numbers to 260,000 soldiers, up from around 180,000 currently, in addition to an extra 200,000 reservists, by 2035.

A nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing human rights in digital spaces across West Asia and North Africa — is warning that Israeli-linked software secretly embedded in Samsung phones across the MENA region poses a serious surveillance threat.

According to SMEX, Samsung’s A and M series devices either come preloaded with the app “Aura” or install it automatically through system updates, without the user’s consent. The application reportedly collects a wide range of personal and device-specific data, including IP addresses, device fingerprints, hardware details, and network information.

In 2022, Samsung MENA partnered with Israeli tech company IronSource, integrating its Aura software into Galaxy A and M series phones across the region. The partnership was publicly marketed as a way to “enhance user experience” with AI-powered apps and content suggestions.

Medical personnel in Gaza have told local media that 100 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes since dawn on Tuesday.

Late Tuesday evening, local time, Israel targeted a camp housing forcibly displaced families west of Khan Younis, and also carried out heavy shelling on the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City. Videos shared by local media show several dead and wounded children.

Before Israel could not do that. It is not like they did not want to. Greater Israel has always included Syria.

This is max cope. Israel destroyed all of Syria's military equipment and anti air defense. and did a massive land steal.

Over the last year, the Israeli military has received at least 100 of Oshkosh armored vehicles like the one in the video. They arrived on vessels operated by the commercial shipping and logistics giant A.P. Moller Maersk.

Israel has long used armored vehicles as killing machines throughout the occupied Palestinian territories. Images of Palestinians crushed by Israeli tanks and trucks are now grimly familiar to anyone paying attention to the ongoing Israeli onslaught in Gaza.

Analyzing shipment export data from over 2,000 shipments over the last year, the researchers report that they were able to reveal a commercial supply chain rife with materiel bound for use in Israel’s assault on Gaza. The researchers said the available shipping data suggests that Maersk ships violated a Spanish embargo policy by transiting through the port of Algeciras.

The Spanish embargo bars cargo ships carrying weapons that could be used for war crimes from making calls in Spanish ports; in May, the foreign ministry said the rule would apply to military goods bound for Israel. Since then, Maersk ships with military goods headed for Israel, including equipment for putting bombs on aircraft, frequently transited through Algeciras, one of the largest ports in Europe, said Palestinian Youth Movement and Progressive International researchers. (Maersk did not respond to a request for comment.)

“We can clearly state that Spain is violating the law,” said Irene Montero, a member of European Parliament from the Spanish left party Podemos. “Article 8.1 of Law 53/2007 on the Foreign Trade of Arms states that the authorization for the transit of military material must be suspended when there are ‘rational indications’ that the material will be used to exacerbate conflicts, in a manner contrary to human dignity, or in a human rights violation.”
