Strawberry, Audacious, qmmp and Amberol are all decent audio players I have been happy with.

I started with Clementine for a few years, and then migrated to Strawberry, I love the mood bar.

I am still on Windows, but am looking to switch to Endevour OS next year or so...

I second Audacious, it's ALMOST foobar, the only thing it doesn't do is create a new playlist from a folder drag into empty space.

EDIT: also, I like to put it into the system tray
