MODERATORS

I was thinking about my post “Should I set the language when I post something?” (Is this the right way to link to a post?) again.

Does the way language gets used on Lemmy imply that a moderator would need to select all languages in the settings to prevent them from overlooking some content?

And wouldn't this be very annoying if the same account gets used for non-moderation usage?

When an mod selects “Moderator view,” they will see all posts & comments in their communities regardless. But when they’re not in “Moderator view,” visibility works the same as for everyone else.

I can’t speak for all mods, but I almost never use “Moderator view,” and I just leave my language setting unset, so I see all languages. I also always set the language for every post & comment I make.

Some mods don’t “police” their communities, and just respond to reports, so this wouldn’t matter to them.

On top of this, every post or comment that is reported shows on the report page, whatever language it was posted in
