Seeing how many selfish and uneducated people there are, I think we'd be beat off if the majority of people doesn't get a say, and the (communist) party just takes the decisions for the greater good of the people.

If there's people involved, I always leave a 5 or 10 star rating because in the best case it'll improve their standing with the company.
But rating products? No thank you, I do not woek for you, and unless I really love or hate a product, why would I care to rate and review it?
Did you read the article? They planted the trees to prevent soil erosion, which worked seemingly well, and overall China has more water now, just unevenly distributed.
Nothing they couldn't fix, and a great example of what can be achieved if a country makes a plan and goes through with it.
