That's a good point, as having russian-only units sorts out some of the issues I guess. That wasn't really ehat I was thinking about though. I get that there are lots of russians opposing the government strongly enough to be willing to fight against them. I was wondering about military age draft dodgers, but I guess they have civilian service for any people unwilling to fight.

Now I'm curious as how Ukraine handles asylum seekers from Russia. Do they consider them too much of a risk to draft them? I mean, obviously going from one country at war to another doesn't solve many of the issues, but I'm curious as to how this would affect their risk of bbeing drafted.

We could argue which of the two is the bigger asshole, but I would definitely say Trump is the bigger idiot. Maybe I'm a bit too influenced in this decision by his incoherent speeches though, which is currently more an Alzheimer thing, but I have never heard any old recordings that were much better. Merz can speak and cover his lies much better.

Merz is a would-be Trump. This is destructive in the same way as putting a stupid high price tag on H-1B visa.

To be fair their industry was sold systematically way below value, so they were put at a disadvantage quite deliberately. The resulting discontent paired with bad education results in populists having easy game to prey on.

I suggest watching satirical series "Die Anstalt" on the "Treuhand" where they explain who stuffed their pockets and how it worked (Episode 47).

Just so you know it has nothing to do with communism and all to do with capitalism and corrupt politicians.

It'll work as long as Russia is still useful for China.
