Sounds like a cross between the Streisand Effect and a very very mild and/or subjective information hazard

Edit: the phrase “Cutting off one's nose to spite one's face” also comes to mind

Engagement bait?

Edit: Or in even more general terms, “counterintuitive”?

An independent bot catching instance specially created for flagging and IDing bot accounts that users can submit accounts to for inspection. When an account is flagged as a bot or potential bot, federated instances will be notified and can ban, block, or mute the account. Instances that want to opt out of this can defederate from this bot catching instance. Instances with a high rate of bot accounts can be defederated from.

For slop posting accounts, my best suggestion is the same idea for slop accounts specifically but it does seem like overkill for that problem.

Pinging @Rimu@piefed.social since they’re doing a great job of working to make the Threadiverse a better place and experience

unable to open the doors and drowned

If you find yourself in a car sinking in water, conserve your energy because the doors will not open until your cabin is submerged. Take a deep breath at the last second that you can (you will need it) and wait until you are fully underwater to try to open the doors. This may not have been possible with the shallowness of the pool in the above news story. There are also specialized tools for breaking car windows that you can keep in your glove compartment for emergencies.

If you mix up the grindings of multiple sponges, do they only recombine with their own cells?

Exodus 20:1-6 reads

“[1] And God spoke all these words:

[2] “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

[3] “You shall have no other gods before me.

[4] “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

[5] You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

[6] but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.”

My interpretation of these verses in regards to modern technology was inspired by Shabbat elevators designed to prevent practicing Jewish people from “creating sparks” on a day which their beliefs forbid that.
