It does punish you for downvoting, though, and sometimes even upvoting. Just by upvoting what you like or think is important and downvoting what you think is bullshit on All, you can collect quite a few bans. Which is bullshit IMO.

I'm about twice your age, German and still got a St Nicholas gift bag from my mother. The answer might be "never".

It's true in that almost every food item is made "with science" (university-educated food technicians, biochemists, engineers etc.) these days, but you hardly need science to make common drugs like alcohol, caffeine or nicotine. Coffee and tobacco are just plants, and fruit will spontaneously start fermenting all on their own.

I tried buying more physical books. I have a small stack of it, but I can't motivate myself to actually keep reading them. And there's always the danger that I find a page turner that'll keep me reading the entire night ...

The conflation of "built for women" and "built for carework" makes me a little uncomfortable. Would stay-at-home fathers not face these challenges? Is it natural that women are responsible for such a disproportionate amount of care work?

And considering that men are much more likely to be victims of violence than women, IDK if they're actually much safer in those "dead zones" or if they're just more likely to take risks.

Depends on how little drug use counts as "drug-abusing". I'd assume the majority of people use drugs like alcohol, nicotine, caffeine and cannabis/THC, and most use them for recreational purposes or "to deal with the stress".

Same issue with "computer nerd", really. One person's nerd is another one's normie.

If you're changing your name for gender change reasons, it has recently become quite easy if you live in Germany. Probably not going to last given the far right's popularity, though.

Probably depends on where you live. Laws differ substantially between different countries and possibly even between federal states.

Based on you not mentioning your country, I assume USA, though.

Here in Germany, that hasn't been true at all so far. For starters, there aren't any "pretty isolated areas" in the first place, since the entire country is pretty densely settled compared to e.g. Iceland. There are still some ongoing projects, though, IIRC they are usually being done for district heating, which has to be near populated areas per definition. I think these types of projects aren't as likely to create earthquakes as the ones for electricity in Iceland, though.

I've been thinking that for a while. Issue is that it's risky, if you fuck up there's a pretty high chance that there are going to be a lot of houses with cracks in their walls (assuming you're doing it in a relatively densely populated area that doesn't normally see earthquakes).

I mean they aren't lions, but are you telling me that they're tamer than house cats? Because I definitely wouldn't trust a cheetah-sized house cat.

I can see why male doctors would be ignorant, but wtf is the excuse of female doctors here?
