Our children do, mostly, call us by our proper names. I guess it comes from us never talking of ourselves in third person.
I read the book Landslide by Desmond Bagley and that made me change my plans from continuing with chemistry to instead pursuing geology. I eventually ended up as a sw engineer anyway.
You never know where you end up, but any education is valuable.
