Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Thursday called on workers to remain vigilant against a sabotage plan orchestrated by the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) against strategic facilities in the country.

"Bolivarian militia, combatant corps and the comprehensive defense plan that requires everyone to defend their own space, the oil and gas facilities, defending them from the CIA ," said the president, who attended the day of review of the grassroots assemblies leading up to the Constituent Congress of the Working Class.

In his speech, the head of state of the South American country stated that “the CIA, (to which) they have been given money, they have been told 'go there', to damage the Venezuelan economy, that is the CIA's plan . ”

“ Faced with the CIA's plans, workers' power, a thousand eyes, a thousand ears . In gas, oil, electricity, transportation facilities and so on, everyone on the lookout,” President Maduro declared.

US media reported that US President Donald Trump authorized the CIA to carry out covert operations in Venezuela .

In parallel, the Trump Administration has deployed a large military contingent in the Caribbean Sea, led by the aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford , ostensibly to combat drug trafficking. Venezuelan authorities have denounced this as a US attempt to bring about regime change in the South American country, which has the world's largest oil reserves.

The plane was carrying a large load of military equipment as part of an operation that authorities have called the largest logistical transfer in Israel's history.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) announced last Wednesday the arrival of its 1,000th arms shipment as part of an airlift to reinforce the army, which began on October 7. The aircraft, part of a joint German-American cooperation effort, landed at Lod Airport (Ben Gurion International Airport) where it was received by IMOD Director General, Major General (Res.) Amir Baram.

This operation is being led by the Defense Procurement Directorate (DPD), through the International Defense Transport Unit, the IMOD missions in the United States and Berlin, the Force Planning and Development Directorate of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Air Force (IAF).

The plane was carrying a large cargo of military equipment as part of an operation that authorities have described as the largest logistical transfer in Israeli history. To date, more than 120,000 tons of military equipment, ammunition, weapons systems, and personal protective equipment have been imported to comprehensively support all current and future needs of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Under this agreement, US President Donald Trump sent Israel vast quantities of weaponry valued at $8 billion, including thousands of bombs, thousands of missile warheads, and more than 20,000 assault rifles . By early 2025, US records showed that Israel had received thousands of weapons of all types, which facilitated Israeli attacks in the region and reflect Washington's involvement in war crimes.

On November 17, Germany announced it would lift restrictions on arms shipments to Israel, asserting that the ceasefire supposedly in place in the Gaza Strip is holding. Sebastian Hille, deputy spokesperson for the German government, confirmed at a press conference that "the arms export restrictions to Israel announced in the government statement of August 8, 2025, are hereby repealed, and the repeal will take effect on November 24. "

This decision was welcomed by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, who stated that other countries should follow Germany's example and lift the partial arms embargo imposed on Israel. However, the Israeli army continues to carry out military operations in the region, where it has been reported to have violated the truce with Lebanon with more than 10,000 operations and nearly 400 operations in Gaza.

Despite announcing a ceasefire, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas reported that 312 Palestinians have been killed and 760 wounded in attacks that violate the agreement. Hamas called on the parties that signed the agreement to take measures to enforce the cessation of hostilities.

Israel has violated Lebanon's airspace more than 7,300 times since the truce came into effect in November 2014, according to a new UN report.

Danny Goffrey, a spokesman for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), announced on Wednesday in an interview with RIA Novosti that Israeli forces have carried out more than 7,300 air raids in Lebanon since the implementation of the ceasefire, along with thousands of other illegal military activities north of the Blue Line on the southern border.

The Blue Line is the demarcation that the United Nations (UN) drew in 2000 to separate Lebanon from the territories occupied by Israel and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, following the Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon.

Goffrey denounced these illegal Israeli incursions as flagrant violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 , which has governed the rules of engagement in the region since the end of the 2006 war between Israel and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah. The resolution specifically demands a complete cessation of hostilities and the establishment of a demilitarized zone between the Blue Line and the Litani River.

The spokesman also confirmed that Israel is building concrete barriers across the Blue Line, the internationally recognized border between Lebanon and the territories occupied by Israel, which constitutes a serious violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

A geographical survey conducted in October found a wall southwest of Yarun that extends into Lebanese territory. Goffrey confirmed that a second barrier, observed southeast of Yarun in November, also crosses the border and stated that UNIFIL has asked Israel to remove it.

The spokesman also stated that the mission will formally notify Israel about these violations, which directly contravene Resolution 1701.

He concluded by emphasizing the responsibility of Israeli forces to refrain from any hostile action that could threaten UN peacekeeping forces operating in the area.

In October 2023, border clashes broke out between Hezbollah and the Israeli army, which turned into open warfare in September 2024, killing thousands of people and causing significant destruction in several Lebanese regions.

The Israeli regime has not honored the ceasefire agreement reached with Hezbollah in November 2024 and continues to maintain troops in southern areas where it has established positions. A recent UN report announced that Israeli attacks have resulted in at least 100 deaths since the ceasefire began .

Israel maintains that its attacks are directed against Hezbollah positions, an accusation rejected by both the movement and the Lebanese government, which warn that these attacks seek to destabilize the south of the country and hinder the return of displaced people to their homes.
