If you use Conversations/Cheogram it can work as a UnifiedPush distributor (e.g. Matrix clients, Molly) - here are a couple of options for moving off of Firebase. As easy as making an XMPP account (unifiedpush.org)

I am definitely way too condescending to people, but your post comes off like instructing others that being in that situation is okay. Shoplifting varies widely in risk depending how insane everyone involved is. Years ago I would take enough food to eat, that's not me trying to show off my elite skills. I think the frequency of shoplifting required to survive calls for one billion percent more effort and fastidiousness. You gotta buy a seltzer on the way out!!!

If people are suspicious of you, that's already a fuck-up. Be there regularly in walking attire with a bag or coat or whatever, buying cheap things. When you take shit buy SOMETHING on your way out. Come on.

Personally: no & yes. For the latter, a legitimate court of law ought to laugh at this case. But that's not what he is facing.

The subject came up in conversation, so I figured I would take the temperature here.
