I have been reading a lot of fiction lately.

Listen, the important thing isn't to court optimism. It's to avoid pessimism. Pessimistic thoughts tend to be sticky and refuse to go away. Mindfulness meditation can help you give those thoughts the boot.

But it also helps to stay busy. Like my hobby of reading fiction.

Exercise can also help.

Staying optimistic can backfire if you're over optimistic at all.

The US military has had many incidents where it was sloppy as shit. I wouldn't completely write off the idea that they might just be a lot more incompetent than most people think.

In college, I had a URL in my email signature, and the website was about etiquette in emails. I did this because I had to frequently communicate with a person who typed in all caps, and I hoped that he'd read it at some point. But anyways it wasn't a well-known domain, nor was it one that I had registered myself.

And then, somebody sent me an email asking what kind of sick sense of humor I had, and it turned out that the link now went to a hardcore porn website. Not the best link to have in your email when you're using it to try to find a job.

Thinking about it now, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a prank by somebody who knew me.

Didn't you hear how many wars he ended? There was the, uhhh, Albania-Azerbaijan war, the uhh, Israel-Palestine war that he completely ended moments before they started a new completely different war. Also Robot Wars and Storage Wars. And many others behind the scenes, so that from the outside, he seems to have done nothing at all.

Here's another thing that doesn't make sense about that post:

If you play Dungeons & Dragons, this object probably stops you in your tracks.

If you just play Dungeons & Dragons, then it looks like the hundreds or thousands of other d20s you've seen. Barely worth a look.

On the other hand, if you just like dice, like a lot of TTRPG people do, then it might catch your attention.

Actually, hearing about this, I'm now surprised that our military didn't stop the fishing boats first to siphon all of the gasoline out of their tanks before blowing them up and murdering their crew.

It was carrying drugs?

This type of drug has several street names, among them, black gold and Texas tea.

They're called integrals, so it should be no surprise that they're integral.

It sounds to me like she was sexually harassing him.

I am not bi, but I wonder if bisexual people didn't get the worst name for their sexuality. Because I suspect that most of them simply don't care about the other person's gender. I think they're attracted to the person themselves, regardless of gender. And now that people accept that there are more than two genders, the "bi" in "bisexual", meaning "two" seems overly specific.

But anyways, back to the example at hand, assuming that his type of "bi" means that he cares about other stuff more than gender, it's hard to imagine a worse way to come onto him than to do what that lady did. "I have a terrible personality, now let's see that hard dick."

I wonder... you know how webpages use widgets to try to see if you're human? Apparently they collect various data about how you interact with the webpage to figure out whether you're human. Perhaps they could use that data to make a fingerprint that can tell people apart. It maybe would be fairly inaccurate, but combining it with other information like IP address or location information could work together to make a better digital fingerprint.

I even think the headline is a little offensive, acting as if ceding land is even an option. They ceded land to Russia a decade ago and they're still getting attacked. WW2 should have taught us that you can't appease guys like Putin and Hitler.

It just occurred to me that were a person to complain about life giving them lemons, that's basically like how Homer Simpson complained about finding money when he was looking for a peanut. It's indeed true that money would be unpleasant to eat directly, but that's not how it's supposed to be used, anyways.
