Yeah maybe... But Proton is a private company which shields them from much of the external forces the big guys are always scrambling to please. The Proton ceo can still choose not to enshitify and keep his job. Time will tell I guess.

I don't think they are. They certainly suck in many ways, however currently it seems most likely the shit show is a result of terrible and out of touch advisors to the top positions rather than actual malice.
This is why the left is doomed at the moment.
Someone stands up for the left side, they receive: "fuck off you're not perfect enough"
Whereas any branch of the right will get behind another if they're even slightly nudging the way they want.
