its been illegal for all forums/sites. the reason csam gets through to some sites, is if there is no moderation at all, or the site is extremely obscure, and the csam is buried under profiles of profiles of users. one was shut down '16 not because of the csam/beastility(localiazed to specific users), but because it wasnt paying the bills.

i suspect reddit is mostly saving money by using AI moderation, they have very few admins, and only those admins can unban a shadowban, its very noticeable most appeals are ignored.

ive been in forums, and the moderation can be strict asf depending on the type of content your in. some mods are hyprocritical as fuck, and they violate thier own rules to troll you(looking at a certain forum thats for the services) especially when multiple people have called out the mods for thier rude behaviour.

reddit is more like Y/a ANSWERS than any other social media, at least the layout is almost the same, until oracle shut down the site, there was very little moderation towards the end of Y/a LIFESPAN, before they turned it into a doomscrolling feature they were more stricter.

reddits moderation has definitely become very oppressive, especially with AI doing the dirty work of banning people with no recourse of appeal, plus they use all sorts of metrics to ensure you wont be able to use another account on the site again.

politics, reaction, influencer types are usually of lower quality than other non-political channels, most of them devolve into clickbait or reaction slop. plus its like watching cnn or fox in youtube format, no need if you already access the same political content from other social media platform. Youtube pushes heavily on politics into your feeds(even non-conservative content). i used to followed asian ytubers that give commentary/jokes on news , but when it comes to politics, they lean heavilya certain way, but was always able to play off of it and not in your face, overtime they became lazy and lean all the way in to it now, that it turned fans off, adding a little mysgoyny as well.

oh yea, and it would be more prudent to use an actual physicist, astronomer, astrophysicist on the show it would improve the quality.
