How have I lived with a Jewish family all my life and never heard 'Kyke', yet I was well aware of 'Faggot' after only knowing about gay people for much less time?

I understand my father fairly well, we've had several long conversations with each other about important things with the goal of understanding each other better. I would even say, that besides for a core belief difference, he's a good person too. My mother, though, is very hard to talk to, so I don't understand her as well.

Isn't the point decentralisation though? If everyone uses the same community to avoid fragmentation that harms decentralisation. I know it's a tradeoff and there's no easy answer besides a rewrite of Lemmy to allow grouping communities on different instances or something like that, though.

We should not have UBI as that implicitly continues the need for money. Instead we should work towards a world with Universal Basic Resources, or even not so basic resources, if it can be automated.
