None of that is novel or unique to Spotify or streaming. The push for radio hit singles was killing the "listen-through album" well before the internet meant individual tracks could be easily purchased (or pirated).

Pop music is always mostly bland, that's how it gets mainstream appeal. The good ones stand out and are remembered while the rest fade from cultural memory.

I'll be deep in the ground before I play along with that kind of shallow pandering.

Well it started with a genocidal colonial project. Then it started with the repression of class revolts like Bacon's Rebellion. Then it started with the framing of a union of states that gave extra representation to rural slave-owners because their economic production was important. But it all started when those rural slave-owners wanted to make sure that new territorial expansions (remember, genocidal colonial project) also allowed slavery. Later it started when Lincoln was assassinated and his successor, Andrew Johnson, gave up on Reconstruction so the seditious slave-owning traitors weren't held accountable for the sedition or slavery and were allowed back into seats of political power.

Innovation is not the most important trait a society can chase, I'd rather judge on how they treat those that need the most help.

The planet is better off with fewer people

Fuck off with that ecofascist soft genocide shit.

I just firmly disagree that parents should have that much control over their offspring. Government-mandated care and responsibilities are important, this includes safety laws and restrictions. This includes limiting the stuff they're exposed to.

But children need to be raised and parents shouldn't have carte blanche to fuck their kids up in the name of personal liberty.

The concept of society is fundamentally opposed to your "everyone is responsible solely and completely for themself" ideal up there. I have a vested interest in people not throwing their life away.

Plastic is pretty much never going to be a greener alternative than a renewable, biodegradable plant. Especially if they can be grown nearby.

The real trees are purpose-grown and biodegradable, like carving pumpkins or floral bouquets. Killing a plant for ceremony and decoration feels way less wasteful to me than making more permanent garbage.

Yeah but real trees are a renewable resource, fake trees are an easy plastic luxury to avoid.

Downvoted by big LED but you speak the truth.
