Yup, what I'd expect an expert to do.
This. Reasonable odds that it's the drive controller that got fried, HDDs are fairly resistant, unfortunately the borked drive controller may have corrupted the GPT table, (unlikely the data unless the drive really is fried).
In some cases there's a backup GPT table at the end of the drive, but by now you're in the weeds and need to assess how much that data is worth to you, because you need to find an expert.
If it's not worth much there's a good chance you can just recreate a GPT table and reformat and scan for errors, at least you'll get a drive back.
