I actually do one blackout day a year. Its fun, candles, simple meal, maybe make a fort, put down the phone to "save battery".

I used to do it on big storm days basically in case the power actually went out I was ready but I no longer live somewhere that loses power so much. So now its just for fun and you can still eat your stuff in your fridge and turn on the lights at the end.

The void is always calling for me and I am shockingly comfortable staring into its nothing for extended periods of time.

Nemo broke the code to be just kinda awesome.

Its like a modern enlightenment but songified.

Lemmy has a weird issue with being super restrictive of ableist language, beyond reasonable, in some spaces and completely ambivalent in others.

I had someone say I was as useless as accessibility kitchen items, which mostly just means I'm extremely useful to specific people and viewed as a joke by intolerant people who don't care about others...

Weirdly good compliment. Really telling in the idiot using it.

I actually think it's way more like 4chan than reddit.

Niche threads are small handful of people every time, people feel pretty safe to get nasty really quick, and wild mix of people thinking it's their safe space full of people that agree with them entirely from anarchists to fascists.
Also likely to see a random porn or furry post.

Zone 7B.... I think it's been a bit warm out.

Hey!

I'm sure they at least read the abstract, that has to count for something.
