Great list! And according to your list I'm right. BBSes aren't internet, and usenet is a synonym for newsgroups

It's old but it's not even close to the OG. I believe the OG is newsgroups, and after that was p2p file sharing apps like limewire and napster, and only then did torrenting become a big thing

I don't understand what you don't understand. It's in so many soups and recipes because people like it. Most people love chocolate, but there are a small number of people who hate it. Different people have different tastes. It could be genetic, it could be a bad association that built up in your formative years, or whatever.

Never crossed my mind. And now that I'm trying to think about it all the names i try out sound wrong because i so strongly associate myself with my given name. Even other names of my same gender don't feel like they're me.

Ignorant nonsense. I live in nyc and tons of us LOVE that people from other countries have moved here. Tons of blended immigrant neighborhoods is one of the things that makes this place so freaking fantastic. Chinatown, little Italy, koreatown, little Caribbean, little Odessa, Spanish Harlem,... fugeddaboutit

Eh, if you believe that god is omnipotent then it's not really hubristic to think that god can easily have a personal relationship with every living being, which includes you

This planet isn't in our solar system. We've found 6,053 exoplanets already, so it's a safe bet that there's lots more of them than you're aware of

That's a very interesting question. @cleanandsunny (or does lemmy use the tag
u/cleanandsunny ?) do you know if the immune system can recognize a portion of the H section or N section of the protein, or instead does it specifically only recognize the HN protein in it's joined shape?
