I can't emphasize enough how important Sci hub is now more than ever as science is literally under attack by fascists. Making this less accessible is part of a bigger agenda and is a travesty. I encourage anyone with the ability to mirror to please do so.

@Imgonnatrythis @sabreW4K3 some scientific articles have been deleted by the us so shadow libraries are crucial to keep archives and preserve knowledge from book burnings (irl and numerical).

Didn't scihub stop adding new articles years ago?

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Unfortunately Yes, again due to legal interference, but it's still a very valuable resource.

I think Anna's archive continues from where they stopped

Agreed. Just want to add that most of us still support real Americans who still believe in actual freedom and liberty for all.

Fuck america. The culture and government are both irredeemable. 'Real Americans' are howling fascist orcs covered in Nazi tattoos or being bred like farm animals, both hungry to lynch the marginalized.

The actual people here, for the most part, never felt a part of any of this.

Academic research should be public knowledge

Okay hut have you considered that corporate enforcers disagree, and will murder you for that opinion?

Laughs in DDG and Wikipedia

Laughs in emailing the writers for completely free and legal access.

I once pirated my own publication (I lost the original and it was behind paywall). This world is so fucked in every way.

How dare you! How absolutely fucking dare you take food out of the mouths of hardworking researchers¹ by stealing their work! You're a monster! Have you considered that if everyone acted like you, we'd have no science at all!?

¹the corporate kind. For some values of 'researcher'.

Jesus fuck those publishers!

Goddamn racket!

who tf uses google these days??? even my grandma knows not to.

Can we start slowly boycotting businesses that leverage Google resources? Like, maybe start with one industry, and then hit them hard. "Like hey Steam, my domain filter shows all the Google queries I get from your site. Knock it off or we'll use the competitor!"

Seriously, the Google queries from using Steam are pissing me off for real.
