Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

These "peace plans" are deliberately humiliating and dumb. Time to stop inviting the US to the negotiating table.
Problem is that the Great Bozo the Orange keeps showing up and Russia likes him there because they think he's funny.
The more stupid Russia makes Trump look, the better it is for them. The entire objective is to fully destroy America's reputation in the world. They've already done that with spectacular success, now they're just piling on.
It'll just raise the US's reputation even more when it finally stirs from its lethargy and cleans house.
Or ruin it even more when they squander that opportunity, like they did during the Biden administration.
Unfortunately you'll most likely be right, dems won't do shit, because they don't want to cause a ruckus and their backers probably have their own skeletons in a closet that might fall out. All the shit under Trump will just fade away.
It's not just modern Dems. The simple fact is, Dems have been extremely weak for decades, and have basically become presidential placeholders, in office just long enough for people to forget the last bad Conservative president, and elect another one to continue their destruction of America.
The last strong Democratic president was LBJ. We need another warrior like him.

Let's guess who will be extracting the profit from that "free" (as in Trump doesn't have to pay for it) zone. It sure as shit won't be the Ukrainians.
The Ukrainians haven't been profiting from anything in Ukraine since 1990.
Inflation-adjusted GDP PPP in 1990 was $1.2 trillion, it collapsed after the dismantling of the Soviet system, and by 2022 it still hadn't recovered to 2/3rd of what it was in Soviet times as it was below $800bn. And this is even before taking into account the massive inequality that was created at the time and has perpetuated itself. Sadly, Ukrainians have suffered immensely in the economic sphere since 35 years ago.

I think it's the other way around. Trump's trying to force Ukraine to surrender before the Europeans get their fingers out and confiscate frozen Russian oligarch assets. Because when that happens, the slowly deteriorating Russian position will rapidly worsen.

EDIT: I think I was kind of thinking of "Free trade zones" which this is not. So who knows what they're talking about.

There's a 'free zone' in Belize that ahh.... It's like a pustulant blister of capitalism. It's gross. Feels gross. Everywhere that isn't actively selling shit is a literal garbage dump, and there's a ton of building carcasses with faded signs falling off of them. Looks like in its heyday it was at best a sleazy strip mall.
