[Bug] Tablet mode appears to be busted in 1.0.22 beta (lemmy.today)

I'm on version 1.0.22 and tablet mode doesn't seem to do anything any more. If I check or uncheck the box for tablet mode in Setting it looks the same (not split screen like before).
