I really like the strategy I've seen used in college campuses before where you use it as a fundraiser. Have a donation table and donate all the money to pro LGBT organizations. I can't find the video I was hoping to but the guy basically said "ignoring them doesn't do anything, and shouting back at them doesn't do anything at the end of the day, but using them to raise money actively helps fight them. I'm going to make this donation in their name because they are helping us raise the money".
It also helps with the people who don't want to be in the protest but want to help actually do something, and it shows that the average person isn't silently in favor of their bullshit.
