It's starting to reach the point where I don't really find this funny anymore and I just find it sad. Kinda like when you see an older person get scammed out of thousands of dollars by one of those IRS or tech support scams. Fear makes people do stupid things. I get it, this is what they voted for. And yes, a lot of MAGA are legitimately Nazis and deserve all the hate they get and more. But some of these people just got scammed plain and simple. When I see someone get scammed out of their life savings I don't just laugh at them and say "I told you not to fall for those IRS scams. Jesus Christ you are so fucking dumb." No, I get pissed at the scammer that took advantage of them. Fuck all those people that are actual Nazis, though.
The fact that we see so many people having regret is a good thing. I'd rather have people that realized they fucked up then people that are doubling down and defending everything Trump is doing.
Yes, they got scammed, but I did my best to warn those around me, and they laughed and ridiculed me, calling me a "libtard" and "cucked". Now, I have to suffer along with these morons while American democracy circles the drain. ALL OF THIS WAS COMPLETELY FORESEEABLE AND ACTUALLY FORESEEN BY ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN. Does it suck for them and is sad? Sure, 100%, but they've made it suck for me and millions of others. What of the families torn apart by ICE thugs? Are they lamenting that? No, because they only give a shit about themselves and how they inadvertently hurt themselves when they thought that Trump was only going to "hurt the right people", meaning the people they hate. Accordingly, IMHO, a bit of schadenfreude is a normal reaction for everyone who easily saw all this coming.
It's amazing to me that you all still think you're so smart after the Obama and Biden presidencies. So much of what Donald is doing right now would be impossible if Obama and Biden hadn't enthusiastically participated in fascist politics themselves. (Including the acceptability of having very public brain damage as president.)
It would be possible no matter who was president because the "immigration crisis" is fully fabricated by the media.
True, but when Dubya started kidnapping (I mean "renditioning" people) and torturing them, and then Obama did those things AND put kids in cages and concocted a kill list, while knowingly drone bombing an American citizen, and then Donald did all those things and tried to ban Muslims, which were then followed up by Biden doing all those things AND making sure a child genocide and a manufactured famine got full US support....
...it's easy to see how both sides have made all this possible.
It's a little laughable watching all the hand wringing about Hegseth's war crimes. (though a little satisfying)
Hate to break it to you, but that was Trump.

While Obama’s legacy on immigration was mixed and not exactly great, his administration did make a point to keep families together and not isolate children from their relatives.

You and I must have lived through a very different Obama era.
And Obama. Obama also did ~~state kidnappings~~ "family separations". The only difference was that Donald didn't try to intellectualize around it and was very blatant about what he was doing, whereas Obama tried to put lipstick on the pig in the mold of a "compassionate conservative" like Dubya.
Always appreciate how euphemistically people speak about Obama, as if his policies didn't provide a normalization for greater fascist abuses under Donald and Biden.
Are you actually repeating Trump talking points while also being angry about it?

There was nothing euphemistic about my previous comment. I linked details on Obama’s record on immigration policy. He didn’t all keep his promises on immigration and his track record on it was mediocre and with a high number of deportations. That’s not the same thing as having kids in cages (again, that was Trump term 1), or anything like the atrocities we’re seeing today from ICE’s thugs.
Please, source your statements if you’re going to be this wrongly argumentative about it. Otherwise this isn’t a discussion worth continuing.
Again, with the euphemistic language.
Let's call him what he was: a lying, corrupt son of a bitch.
