Please excuse my ignorance, but what does "leave" mean in this context? Before I leave what?
They're imagining the community (the subreddit) as a space one enters by navigating to the community's main page, and "leaving" it is going to do other things.
A rule that asks users to post before they leave seems arbitrary, that's why it's confusing to me. If people only post because it's a rule, I thought a logical consequence would be tons of posts of low quality.
It's a meme shitposting community; arbitrary is to be expected
