It's more than with the current userbase, it can be challenging to have two communities on the same niche topic.

You regularly see community consolidations such as https://lemmy.world/post/39671889 , where the agreement was to go from a specific games to the general genre community (city builders)

Seems very close to !journaling@sh.itjust.works by @libb@piefed.social

Mbin has had that feature for a while too

It's a temporary workaround but the experience is still clunky

The Other Half (TOH) is a swappable back cover that does more than protect your phone — it transforms it. The original Jolla Phone (2013) pioneered this with open I2C interface and NFC-enabled covers that changed themes and behaviour just by snapping on

(...)

With the new Jolla Phone, we’re taking TOH even further — and we’ll open source the hardware and software interface specs so anyone can design, 3D-print, or produce their own modules. Primarily we plan that the new The Other Half interface would be based on I³C.

Great posts from .Zip admins as usual

For people interested in growing communities, there is !fedigrow@lemmy.zip

@fdroidorg at this point is being used to push out an app with sensitive permissions that's been taken over by an unknown individual who refuses to engage with its large community of users and developers.

I STRONGLY recommend disabling updates from Fdroid, if not uninstalling and manually installing 2.0.11.2, or installing the Google Play version which has a different maintainer.

this is extremely shady and it's just looking worse as time goes on. I'll link to the Syncthing forum thread from about where I left off last time in a subsequent post.

Sorry, I wanted to say "it should happen server-side with an API so that both web UI and apps can use it"

Antennas are really a feature Mastodon is missing.

When I use Mastodon, I switch to Phanpy.social to have a slight better UI, but otherwise Sharkey/IceShrimp are really much better.

I use Antennas on Sharkey / IceShrimp to be able to find content I'm interested in.

But I usually prefer the Threadiverse format.

Is there a way to contact the admin?

It's usually recommended to have a Matrix account or another Lemmy/Piefed community to be able to get news in this kind of scenario
